"Ruination" - Get Big or Get Out?

I am canvassing interest for a new event to be run late January 2014 here in Wellington.

"RUINATION" would be a five round tournament over two days for 4000 point armies!

My initial thoughts would be no Grand Army rule, no Comp - though maybe some rules around duplication where more than two of the same Lord/Hero level magic users (to stop Light Council shenanigans), 3.5 hour games on 8' x 4' tables.

Armies would have to be painted but I think there would be sufficient opportunity to borrow figures from locals to flesh out your force.

So any interest?

    Would be very keen. Would it use scenarios?

      Scenarios could be a cool way of speeding things up. Also allow you to throw cation to the wind and have epic combats of 100 empire spearmen vs 4 Skull crushers... Who will win??!

    sounds like an awesome yarn. i attended the first sledgehammer tournament in Christchurch three years ago and it was amazing fun

    No caps! Think of all the Dwarven war machines I could take at 4000pts, or id finally have an excuse to run an uber horde of High Elf Spears

      Is eight war machines too many.....? I can fit that in and still put in an Anvil, 2 Quarreller blocks and an angry ginger-bearded Dwarf Lord on shieldbearers with a big axe.

      Fair enough, eight is too many.

      I hope others exercise similar restraint so we don't see double Abombs with eleventy-hundred Gutter Runners, triple Chimeras with dual Daemon Princes and double Hell Cannons, etc.

    If you include allies as a way of letting people get to the total, make sure the Reign of Chaos is only used if the larger army is made up of Daemons.
