Sixteen are playing at HomeCon III this weekend at Chez Dunn.
Here are the lists.
Breakdown is:
Ogre Kingdoms - 3
Vampire Counts -2
Warriors of Chaos - 2
Orcs & Goblins - 2
Empire -1
High Elves -1
Skaven - 1
Dark Elves - 1
Daemons of Chaos - 1
Beastmen - 1
and (unfortunately)
Dwarfs - 1
Lots of Ruby Rings, Charmed Shields and Talisman of Preservation on show. Must have been big movers at Xmas sales.
At least only 5 peoples weekends will be ruined by the dwarves...
ReplyDeleteAny chance of a run down Pete? Going to go over the lists and players?
Locky
Yep...will do Locky.
DeleteAt headline level and given opponent's I think Sam Whitt's Orcs and Goblins are very strong.
Least subtle list would be Hamish Gordon's which looks like a brick in a sock
Nice to see Tom has a fluffy original Daemon list… ha ha, can we say Nick Pym?
ReplyDeleteDaemons don't really get fluffy do they?
DeleteAt least the Chariot of Slaanesh and Hellflayer are different :-)
DeleteI hope they're not like the screamers.
DeleteOne tournament and then retired and points put into more bloodletters :)
Locky.
Daemons don’t really get so fluffy! Last chance to run it really though as the new Daemon book is out very soon.
DeleteHave to say that I love Neil’s goblin list! Really good to see something different. Great work! 15 WL’s Pete with the Banner of Sorcery? Surely opponents this time will realise this is a key unit and easy to get and take it out.. great to see a Ghoul king.. happy days! 5 war machine dwarfs.. groan.. and some cookie cutter empire, ogres and orcs. Looks like it will be a good weekend had by all.
ReplyDeleteCookie cutter Empire? I have a Wagon, "nerfed and useless Waralter", "over priced" Halberds, no Knight bus or stank...Fluffy as...I'm just saddened that Everyone has jumped on the Ogre Bandwagon...who needs skill these days :P I was (almost) happy to see a Skaven list given they were the only army I seemed to be able to beat at Masters...
DeleteStop with the excuses cookie monster.
DeleteUs Dunns can't really please anyone.
Delete'Hi, I'm Peter, I'm sorry I didn't bring Skaven. I know how disappointed you are."
lol Subtle as a brick in a sock, love it! :)
ReplyDeleteIt is hard to be subtle with Warriors of Chaos especially since there isn't enough fat in the points to play with 5-8 re-directers! If only our dogs didnt cuase WoC to take a panic check when they flee... damn u LD8! :(
Yeah but you get a re roll. Manglers love Chaff less armies!!
DeleteTrue and I guess the frenzied units are immune to pysch as well... I just have an aversion to dogs since mel made a unit panic my Tzeentch warriors and they kept running for 4 turns until they hit the board edge.. a touch unlucky I guess!
DeleteSo I take people aren't looking forward to playing my Dwarfs? And in fact there souls will be shattered if faced against me?
ReplyDeleteMission Complete ;D.
Dwarfs should be banned from tournaments…. And anyone who plays them! Ha ha, hopefully they will get a new book once GW invents some monstrous cav and flyers for them. Can anyone say blimp, gyrocopter squadrons for drive buys and mechanical monstrous dwarf infantry?... hardly a substandard list on the Empire.. the War Alter is a solid choice. Two cannons, hellblaster, engineer, demi chickens looks cookie cutter! I am ashamed to say I am on the ogre band wagon this year (as they are the only thing I’ll have painted..) although I will run a tyrant on a carpet and double stonehorn at a big event this year. Maybe in Wellington show you how it is done..
ReplyDeleteSssshhhh....you're letting out my secrets....I'm trying to underdog it here!
DeleteAlso flying Tyrant and double stonehorn-This I have to see.
I just want Dwarfs riding bears and I'll be happy. Also, all the units to be reduced by 1-2pts.
ReplyDeletelol
I of view, GW will finally release they have completely messed up Dwarf fluff and that makes it impossible to fix the army without some serious revisionist history. They weren't prepared to do for Squats in 40k when the same issue arose, so I think it's see you later Dwarf's in warhammer, should just make them allies for Empire, like halflings.
DeleteDwarfs riding bears - how bloody silly! What next? Men on Chickens?
DeleteYeah, it's almost as silly as Ogres packing cannons made of awesome and win mounted on T6 monster chariots.
DeleteYes, I'm bitter....and jealous.
I just thought they would be cool looking models. Big ass armored bear being ridden by a heavily armored Dwarf with a BF-Hammer in hand.
DeleteWould be better then those silly looking new Bloodcrusher models or whatever, they look like a small brick mounted on top of another brick.
Games Workshop would never put out a model a silly as warriors riding bears into battle......
Deletehttp://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b44/officerdpa/WarhammerArmiesKislev_zps021e8087.jpg
That's a great looking model! now only if a Dwarf was riding that and the bear had armour plates placed around it.
DeleteWho would have thought?! It will be interesting to see what they do with Daemons and WOC as they are coming in pretty quick succession. I can hear the moans from Daemon players when Bloodletters go up in points…
ReplyDelete...Only to be drowned out by the sounds of rejoicing...until we see what the new DoC Power build is
DeleteGo Simon! WOOT WOOT!!!!
ReplyDeleteYES! THIS GUY!
DeleteThank you! Least someone understands.
You know what? I normally never take the storm banner but I think it's going to have to get some love in my lists in the future just so I can annoy the crap out of the arty.
ReplyDeleteAt least you expect it from Dwarf's, this double Ironblaster Ogre thing and Empire artillery park is no good. I think the next list is going to have to be Chieftan general & 1,150 slaves in 50 slave blocks :)
