largest army is much, much bigger than that Pete. Dan Haydens army grows an extra ~31 models on the first turn! if no birthing accidents, rinse and repeat.
Depends on how much we bribe Pete to remove every single piece of LOS blocking terrain from every table :P
Seriously though as both Pascal and Ivan's lists suggest its pretty hard to lose everything turn 1 if you just have a handful of models hiding. The most interesting matchup for them will definitely be the Daemons.
lol demons vs ivans list = possible insta win , for ivan. the first demon unit drops... bang, 7 scythes deepstrike... then the rest of the first wave of demons can deep strike... good luck with that:)
The only army that I can see having a chance at wiping Ivan off of the board turn one is Roberts list with the Vypers and the War Walkers with the speed and range to get into somewhat favourable shot making positions.
yeah a chance, but even if you down him and his buddies[ he effectively has 4 wounds thanks to chronometron] he can still get up on a 4+. and he can always just place a couple of 5 man squads around, if he's really feeling the pinch. However, I am in the shit against demons though, it's really odd for me to be in a place were I can't really get into an opponent. I hope like hell I'm not playing him on a kill points mission, I'd be royally screwed then:P
So Ivan...not going to take 7 flyers aye?

ReplyDeleteTaking bets on how many times will Ivan will get tabled turn one =P

I'll take that bet, im guessing 0.
ReplyDeleteI really like the list by DJ "Example". I think it is illegal though with 250 extra points. Can't find him on the rankings though, must be a wildcard.

ReplyDeletecharlie, I'm loving your "upgrades" available on the night croissants :)

ReplyDeleteThat would require me to kill a T5 2+ save 3 wound model with S6 shooting though, which is never much fun.
Delete@ Pascal. Forgot about the Zahndrekh shenanigans, your list could still have a few issues though I guess.
As I said, it is a chance, its better than not having a chance of doing it.

That match up I think mission will be irrelevant. It will purely be "is there a non LOS location I can hide meph" and/or "did you get the wrong wave"?
ReplyDeleteBut then if he draws Ivan in any mission they should not even bother to play, so with each swing comes a round about! :)
C'mon Charlie do a Warne-y! (As made famous by the famous Locky McWhirter)
DeleteThe poor Imperiumum. Only Pascal to defend its honour!
