Guardcon is on this weekend and although the field is much reduced on previous years, it should be a good stoush. Here is a copy of some of the lists that will be fighting it out.
I understand not all are in so if you haven't got yours lodged "Shame on You". Move along now there is nothing for you to see.
I think that’s quite an unfair comment to make, especially for someone who is not attending and not knowing what is actually going on.
ReplyDeleteWTF???? What's an unfair comment?
DeleteThat if you haven't lodged your list then you should have? That if you haven't lodged your list you shouldn't download the lists of those that have?
???
HOW DARE YOU SAY THE ATTENDENCE IS DOWN ON LAST YEAR
ReplyDeleteThe reduced field comment related to the Fantasy event. As has been pointed out previously the 40k event is the year's largest with 30 teams of 2.
ReplyDeleteIMO, You shouldn’t reveal the army lists until all the lists are in. That’s what Phil wants. Phil only sent the lists to some of the attending players for a reason, if he wants to reveal the army lists he could have posted on his own blog.
ReplyDeleteI’m sure you won’t be too happy when you are only of the players in that xls file.
Perhaps it would be helpful if you identified yourself....very impersonal to respond to anonymous.
DeleteWhile I agree that the lists shouldn't have been sent out to anyone before all the lists have been submitted, even to those who had already sent theirs in, this shouldn't even be an issue because the lists should have been in on time.
ReplyDeleteI just can't understand why people can't submit lists on time! It takes about 5 mins to submit, and you have so much notice of the due date its not funny!
Whats the point of setting a date if you can just submit whenever you like?
Harsher punishments are needed.
Hamish I am not getting at you, as it was out of your control.
My entry was late (decision made on sunday after missing out on tauranga tourney...) my list was in that night. Got email yesterday asking for it to be put into template (not army builder), did that last night and emailed it in.
ReplyDeleteSo that is the reason mine is not on the spreadsheet, however, I did put it up on my blog (look right and down a little "guard con" from recidivist gamer on the blogs I read section...)
So rest assured, my list was in before I downloaded the other lists....
I will even go back and add the magic items for any who feel disadvantaged about it...
Looking forward to being the 5th OnG player, instead of one of the only...
see you all there
Yeah I understand your situation mate, not getting at you at all. Us Orc players have to stick together!! Will be interesting to see who comes out of this with best Orc player, might have to organise some sort of prize/bet.....
DeleteFrom my understanding, mostly of the army lists were sent in on time. The reasons why some of the lists were not in the first email is because some of the players didn't fill up the army list template the way Phil wanted (there were no instructions on how to fill up the template in Phil's first email so some players just did it their own way).
ReplyDeletePhil sent out an email last Friday evening together with an example army list to those players in question and asked them to resubmit the lists the way he wanted so that he could process them quicker.
He said he will send all the army lists to all the attending players once all the lists have been received.
Lawl, I sent the lists to Pete as the wargaming community likes to look at lists and make judgements in my experience so Pete was best placed to oblige...
ReplyDeleteDoes it really actually matter? If you haven't submitted a list by now you should be getting a big penalty to cancel out any imaginary advantage looking at the lists might get you...
Anyway to the topic at hand, I look forward to dropping comets on everyone and yelling "Take It Off" loudly as I crush you all without mercy ;)
Cheers
James Milner
Dreams are free Anon James Milner with ya large atmospheric rocks. I've been taught to hand out penalties like a bause and now we know who the culprit is ;) Lists were sent out to guys who had had sent me correct lists on time. Lists will be again sent out prolly tomorrow as I'm adding more to the spreadsheet. Yeah there is a few missing in WHFB due to scaredy Welly folk and generally real lifed up peeps. What's happening in the world these days, warhammer should over come all necessities of life even food and water (hang on I like food). All I can say now is take a broad sword to a donkey or just come and play. GuardCon is only in a few days, ammpppeedd!
ReplyDeleteI have to travel 2ooo km to attend, I call no excuses....
DeleteTo be fair, I take any excuse to get out of this town =P
Geez I've got one of the fluffiest lists there. I thought Phil said it was a fun event for newer players? I toned mine down on purpose! Oh well, I can take the moral high ground when I get smashed!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to it!
Decided which Hellcannon will be coming with me based on their performance at the Tauranga Open.
Ross both your hell cannons were poor Ross v me, would have been better to run them at me thunderstomp through slaves! Gutted I can't make it to try for 3 tournament wins on the trott. I was also guilty of shouting take it off a couple of times at the weekend! Fun had by all..
ReplyDeleteNot as loudly as my "GATEWAY!!!" when I gatewayed off 30 Grave Gaurd, Vampire Lord and a Wight BSB first turn. Almost felt a bit guilty. Almost.
DeleteMoral of the story don’t put three characters in a unit vs gateway! He put the same unit a building v the bell, building came down bsb and vamp failed I tests 13th FTW...
