Looks like Empire were having an army run-out. You have the choice of Option a) Steam Tank and small flaggies or Option b)2x Outriders and a Rocket Battery. Rest of army is essentially the same.
Unfortunately for James he has included two One Use Only Ward saves that can be used against the first ward - Scrying Stone and Opal Amulet - on his Plague Priest.
Hopefully Peter W will let him re-spend the redundant 15 points
Now here's the thing. You can only use one ward save if you have multiple possible saves - you have to pick which one.
So, if the PP is wounded and then makes the 3+ ward save (Scrying Stone), that wound is discarded and the item is used. The Opal Amulet has never been used and the model has never been wounded, allowing the amulet to be used against the next first wound.
You can't use both items to save against the same wound, that is true.
I think I'll play it this way, and if my opponent has an issue, we can let the TO decide :)
I think the wording is pretty clear....they are both against the first wound.....there is only one of those.
If you use the Scrying Stone on the first wound and pass the ward save it doesn't stop that being the first wound. You just passed your save. The next wound is the second etc.
Ilove to let you use it but I know how I'd rule it. Peter W's view may be different.
And I think the wording is pretty clear....you can only use one ward save at a time, and if you make a successful save you've never been wounded at all.
*shrug* I'm already starting off with a 0-20 loss, so it's not like the whole weekend hinges on it.
Where are the newbs? I wanted a gentle introduction to Skavenizing...
ReplyDeleteYou're not in Hamilton now, Toto!
ReplyDeleteLooks like the GW factory had a special on the Crown of Command. BRB items creating diversity eh? :P

ReplyDeleteAnd Empire players question Skaven diversity ????
Being Thrown in the deep end is the best way to learn how to swim
ReplyDeleteYour both as bad each other, Difference being there a 5 very similiar Skaven armies, compared to only 2 Empire.
Ammendments:
Hugh Dixon Lores lvl 4 Fire , lvl 2 Shadow
Stu Robinson lvl 4 Heavens , lvl 2 Fire
Regards
Trying to figure out why Stu has put the book of secrets on his level 2 fire? am I missing something?
ReplyDeleteI could tell you, but then it would no longer be a secret.....
DeleteBugger looking at the other Dwarf lists I realised I forgot to switch to a RO Spelleating rather than Spellbreaking.
ReplyDeleteNever mind John - you will only be fighting other dwarf clans - so it won't make any difference
DeleteNeil
Hey John, make sure you get a game against Pete!! I did it last time for Karak Eight Peaks.
Delete- Adam
It brings him down to a level 1 though? Is it not a waste of a level upgrade??
ReplyDeleteOk just read the errata, so my bad. Silly ex-beastman just read the army book and was hoping for an extra power dice per turn.
DeleteNice to start with a handicap.
Stuart (learn to read the errata)
At least you didn't put it on your level 4 :)
ReplyDeleteAt least there are no GW Marauder hordes my poor High Elves got chopped to pieces against them at Horned Rat last year

Very sneaky though. Very Skaven :-)

John...I have 2 units of 38 GW Khorne marauders?
ReplyDelete38 I can handle (possibly) with Dwarfs - but units of 60 Frenzied Marauders in horde formation against T3 High Elves is something else entirely.
DeleteI'm pretty sure they are clan rats Sam
ReplyDeleteAt least my Knights are safe Pete....
ReplyDeleteHope they have plenty of antibiotics with them.....nasty bout of flu going around
ReplyDeleteI would assume magic res would kick in?
